Dick earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver in 1961. He began his career in the Trust Investment Department of United Bank of Denver in 1963 and for 20 years participated in all aspects of trust asset management. In 1983, he co-founded Cleveland Management Inc. From 1988 to 1995, he was a Senior Managing Director of Inverness Counsel Inc., also serving as a Senior Portfolio Manager and member of the firm's Investment Committee.

Dick is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the CFA Society of Colorado, The CFA Institute, and serves as a director of the D Club of the University of Denver.
