Bob Van Wetter

Co-Founder and COO

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Bob is a cofounder of Northstar, in charge of day to day operations for the firm. Bob also divides his time at Northstar between portfolio management, equity research and spending time with clients. 

Bob’s first investment industry job was as a runner on the floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange in 1983.  Having witnessed many ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ market events firsthand over the years, Bob appreciates the importance of consistency in portfolio management.

Bob has served on a number of not for profit boards including the Colorado Ski Museum, the Children’s Museum and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado.  He also serves as a member of the finance committee for the Colorado Health Foundation.  Bob graduated from Dartmouth College with degrees in government and German.  A Colorado resident since 1989, Bob and his family enjoy the outdoors of Colorado as much as possible through skiing, hiking and cycling.
